31 Aug International Mergers
Research an international merger or acquisition, one in which a business in one country acquired or merged with a company in another country. In your post answer the following questions:
- What competitive advantage was hoped for through this merger?
- Did both companies have a history of success working internationally?
- What kind of obstacles did the companies experience because of the international nature of the merger? (Think about culture, language, laws, currency, and taxation, among other challenges seen in your reading.)
- What made the merger successful or unsuccessful, in your opinion?
