WHO’S YOUR FAVORITE AUTHOR?

DIRECTIONS:

After researching your favorite author’s life, write a 1-2 page summary about that author. Use the MLA format for typing and incorporating in-text citations as reviewed in English 1101. Include examples and/or references of some of the author’s work you’ve read and explain why you enjoy their writing.

If you do not have a favorite author, write about an author you would like to learn more about this semester. Explain why you have an interest in this particular writer and their style of writing. Include some examples and/or references of some of their most famous works.

Include background information, significant life events, influences in the selected author’s life, quotes, and/or attitudes or beliefs often expressed in their writing. While revising and editing, check to make sure you have included the 5 W’s and H (Who, What, When, Where, Why and How) regarding the selected author. Assume the reader has not heard of the author and provide an informative and creative summary for the reader.

FINAL NOTES: AN MLA WORKS CITED PAGE OR BIBLIOGRAPHY PAGE MUST BE INCLUDED AS OUTSIDE RESEARCH IS REQUIRED.
