Successful 21st century school leaders must be visionary, transformative, and innovative and have the knowledge and skills to lead others, willingly or unwillingly, to make changes in traditional teaching practices in order to meet the needs of all learners. There are many examples where Model Technology Programs are flourishing, and much of the credit for this is due to the level of instructional leadership and district and community support.
One of the Model Technology Programs that is meeting the needs of the 21st century learner can be found in the Westside Union School District in California. As you watch this video about the district, look for those components of the program that could be integrated into the district where you are currently assigned.
