Theory and Theorist Comparison Assignment
In this assignment, you will evaluate what you have learned about nursing theories and how they relate to your nursing practice. In a written paper, please address the following:
Compare and contrast one practice theorist and theory to one middle range theorist and theory. You may complete the comparison by creating a comparison table of the two nursing theories and theorists you chose. Include the following components in the table:
Introduction to the table/concept map comparison.
Comparison Table must cover:
Major assumptions of each theory.
Basic concepts and relationships.
Major phenomena of concern to nursing.
Scope of theory.
Strengths of theory.
Limitations of theory.
Application to nursing education and practice.
Reflection: Explain the rationale for your choice of each of the theorist/theories.
Conclusion and Summary: Provide a brief conclusion or summary statement to address how you would apply the theories to your nursing practice.
Written communication (grammar, spelling, and mechanics): Must be clearly organized, cohesive, and free of errors that detract from the overall message.
APA formatting: Resources and citations are formatted according to APA style and formatting.
Number of resources: Minimum of 2 resources. These may include textbook, journal articles, or reliable Internet resources
