We all have at least cursory knowledge of some legal cases. Think of a case that has caught your attention and the impact it has had on you personally and/or your workplace or community, a case in the United States or North Carolina.

State the name of the case and write a short paragraph (around 100-150 words) summarizing the facts and the judge's ruling, based on your memory of it, and how it has impacted you. 

This might be a case you have personally been involved with (a divorce, real estate, small claims, traffic case, etc.) or one that has caught your attention because you heard about it on the news or saw a movie that referenced it, etc. If you cannot think of anything, google articles about recent Supreme Court decisions and write about one that you find interesting and how you think it may impact you, your work and/or your community.
