· Describe two of the four dimensions of group dynamics.
The first dimension of group dynamics is communication process and interaction patterns This dimension focuses on explaining how communication and interaction or lack of either can affect the emoted group dynamic. For example is there is a language barrier, then effective communication will be limited which will affect the dynamic of the group as a whole.
The second dimension of group dynamics is power and control. This dimension discusses the importance of power and control within group dynamics. For example powerful and powerless should have equal amounts of communication within the group. However it is important that the mediator has power and control over the group to support efficient and orderly communications.
· Explain how these dimensions affect the group process.
These dimension affect group process by ensuring that proper communication is being held at all times. While all of these focus on different things they all work on ensuring proper communication within groups.
