25 Jul Statistics Discussion
I’m working on a algebra discussion question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.
Many students have trouble interpreting what it means to reject or not reject H0 for a given hypothesis test. In your own words, explain the meaning of each of the following situations. Explain what we can be reasonably sure of (and how sure we can be), what we do not really know, and/or what we assume, in each situation. Assume α = 0.05.
- The original claim is H0, and H0 was rejected.
- The original claim is H0, but H0 was not rejected.
- The original claim is H1, and H0 was rejected.
- The original claim is H1, and H0 was not rejected.
