According to Johnson (2021), normative leadership is generally regarded as the capacity of leaders to set norms of behaviors for the organizations in which they lead. In other words, normative leadership is about perceptions of how a leader should act opposed to how leaders act. In the text, normative leadership theories are explicitly built on moral principles or norms and provide guidelines for promoting ethical leader behavior (p. 403).

Research the normative leadership theories (transformational, servant, authentic, aesthetic, benevolent, and ethical leadership) from Ch. 8 of Meeting the Ethical Challenges of Leadership: Casting Light or Shadow.

Complete Parts 1 and 2 below to evaluate each of these theories.
