Stable access to food is incredibly important for the well-being of humans and our societies. Think about your observations of the world and discuss what you think might support or hinder access to food for various populations.

Week 2 questions:

• How do you define a food desert? How do you define food insecurity?
• How do you think these situations (food deserts, food insecurity, pandemics, etc) might impact the overall health of the different populations? What are some specific health issues that can occur when people live in a food deserts or experience food insecurity and pandemics?
• What are some programs available in the US and globally that address these situations? How can these programs help resolve these situations?
