The concept of a rising standard of living can be understood by analyzing how many people can afford to have a variety of household technologies. Not that long ago, technologies that we now regard as essential were either not available at any price or were available only to the rich.  Analyze the accompanying graph and write 250-300 words explaining how three or four of these technologies show a rising standard for virtually every American over the course of the twentieth and early twenty-first centuries.
