Midterm task brief- Report

Include all details of the task, including:

·  Individual task

·  Your assignment must contain a standard EU cover page and a section for each of the questions listed below (report’s structure)

·  Your report must be based on your experience with CAPSIM and the application of the concepts delivered in class. 

|Formalities:

·  Wordcount/pages: 6-8 pages long.

·  Cover, Table of Contents, References and Appendix are excluded of the total wordcount.

·  Font: Arial 12,5 pts. 

·  Text alignment: Justified. 

·  The in-text References and the Bibliography have to be in Harvard’s citation style.

It assesses the following learning outcomes:

·  Outcome 1: gain a deep understanding of the combination of localisation and globalisation factors;

·  Outcome 2: be able to discuss the means and ways to develop abroad;

·  Outcome 3: critically examine various management functions and constraints in an international environment;  

·  Outcome 4: assess and evaluate the challenges (currency risk, shipping, cultures) and rewards of international expansion; 

·  Outcome 5: master the use of Capsim ® Global DNA computer simulation.

Report’s structure:

Choose 1 product of your Global DNA competitors in the 1st competition round. Conduct a detailed analysis of your competitor’s product strategy based on the Globe Report:

1. Description of the decisions taken during the 8 rounds: — 4Ps, segments, plants, source of competitive advantage, etc. Consider their product line from a “consumer reports” standpoint.

2. Which strategy were applied for this product? Identify the main characteristics. Was it consistent or not? Was it in line with chosen segment?

3. What could have been done differently? (What went right or wrong?)

4. Share your return / feedback on Global DNA’s experience. What did it bring you collectively and individually?
