Chapter 2 (as well as Chapter 7) on Theories of Development explored several theories of cognitive development, including Jean Piaget's stage theory of cognitive development, Lev Vygotsky's Sociocultural theory of cognitive development, information processing theories, Uri Bronfenbrenner’s ecologicaltheory, and dynamic systems theory. Of the five theories listed above, which theory do you believe best explains children's cognitive development? In your response, briefly describe the major tenets/characteristics of the theory you have selected and then provide at least three (3) reasons why you believe your chosen theory best explains cognitive development.
