Purpose: To reflect on what you have learned over the semester and make
connections between the content course and NAEYC Initial Standards listed on the
course syllabus.
Use technology (i.e., PowerPoint, Prezi, Google Slides, etc.) to create a presentation to
communicate what you have learned in this course. Presentation should include:
1. Three significant concepts you have learned in this class from the course topics.
Include one significant concept for each standard listed below.
NAEYC Professional Standards and Competencies
Standard 1: Child Development and Learning in Context
1a. Early childhood educators are grounded in an understanding of the
developmental period of early childhood from birth through age 8 across
developmental domains.
1c. Early childhood educators understand that children learn and develop within
relationships and within multiple contexts, including families, cultures,
languages, communities, and society.
Standard 4: Developmentally, Culturally, and Linguistically Appropriate
Teaching Practices
4a. Understanding positive relationships and supportive interactions as the
foundation of their work the young children
4b. Knowing and understanding effective strategies and tools for early
education, including appropriate uses of technology
4c. Using a broad repertoire of developmentally appropriate teaching/learning
approaches
